2014 . Directed and Performed by Pegah Vaezi & Silu Lei . Anderson Gallery + FAB Gallery . Richmond, VA
Considering the communicational and intercultural borders, and a way of connecting through art.
During the opening of an art exhibition, I put lipstick on my lips, looking at my dead phone, then kissed Silu's back, coming towards the canvas and rubbing my lips on the canvas. Every time I kissed Silu’s back she wrote down her thoughts and feelings on a laptop in front of her, which was a in a poetic form inspired by Japanese Haiku, and was projected on the canvas, alive. We would continue this loop until my lipstick would be used up. The only way for the audience to enter/leave the exhibition was to pass between Silu and the canvas.
